FALCONER Part Ways With Singer

November 18, 2005

Bleeding for Metal is reporting that Swedish epic/power metallers FALCONER have parted ways with singer Kristoffer Göbel.

In a posting on the Bleeding for Metal message board, Kristoffer writes, "Just wanted to say one last hello to all of you guys. These years in FALCONER [have] been a ball. I just want to say thank you to the fans who has given me there support and love. It has been some really rough times but definitely some major fun too. Almost the whole lot of it. The two latest albums was great doing. The tour in 2003 will be remembered forever. To all the crazy people I've met and to the drunk dudes given me great memories I just want to say: KEEP ROCKING! To FALCONER and their fans: Forever farewell!"

When asked to elaborate on the reasons for the split, Göbel wrote simply, "Fired."

FALCONER's fourth studio album, "Grime Vs. Grandeur", was released in May via Metal Blade Records. The CD features guest performances by Snowy Shaw (MERCYFUL FATE, KING DIAMOND, DREAM EVIL) on drums and Andy LaRocque (KING DIAMOND) on additional lead vocals.
